Beam Bar is a coffee studio designed around the experience of brewing. Conceived as a destination for coffee enthusiasts, the space moves beyond the conventional cafe by placing the preparation process at the center of the experience. A series of coffee bars, each dedicated to different brewing methods, creates an engaging environment where visitors can observe, interact, and appreciate the craft behind every cup.

Working within a narrow shell space, the design focuses on creating a sense of openness despite its compact footprint. The fully operable glass facade dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing the cafe to expand onto an elevated steel patio. Rather than sacrificing valuable landscape for additional seating, the outdoor platform is lifted above the planting, overlapping greenery and occupancy into a single intervention. The metal grating allows vegetation to remain visible beneath, preserving the character of the outdoor space while extending the cafe beyond its physical limits.

Inside, a folded wood ceiling exaggerates the perceived volume of the space while directing attention toward a linear skylight that introduces a shifting beam of daylight throughout the day. Together with the glass storefront, natural light continuously transforms the interior, reinforcing the connection between the architecture and the rhythm of coffee preparation.

The material palette balances precision with warmth. Blue veneer, inspired by the project’s branding, is detailed with alternating grain directions to create a subtle paneling pattern that wraps the space. Stainless steel surfaces and a sculptural central island composed of stacked marble cubes introduce the character of a working coffee laboratory, while wood finishes soften the atmosphere and encourage visitors to linger. The layout exposes each brewing station from every seating position, allowing the ritual of coffee making to remain the focal point of the experience.
