HID Café in Fnaitees presents a refined, understated atmosphere designed to elevate the daily ritual of coffee into a serene experience. Studio Nama’s interior concept translates the client’s vision into a quiet yet uplifting environment; one that celebrates stillness, proportion, and material harmony.
The spatial narrative unfolds through a continuous walnut wood envelope that defines both ceiling and walls, creating a secluded setting that contrasts with the brightness and movement of the urban exterior. The design intent was to craft a space that feels calm and elevated, where every surface and fixture contributes to an overall sense of composure.

The interior layout is organized around a symmetrical axis that connects the entrance to the main bar area. This linear spatial arrangement establishes a visual hierarchy and directs focus toward the heart of the café; a tiled counter finished in rich brown hues that anchor the composition.
Materiality plays a central role in defining the atmosphere. Dark wood veneer and polished terrazzo form the primary palette, offset by soft ivory seating and chrome detailing. Each material was selected for its tactile and visual balance, reinforcing the concept of quiet luxury.
Furnishings are deliberately minimal, referencing modernist design principles through clean geometries and functional clarity. The built-in banquettes feature gathered upholstery that adds a subtle texture to the otherwise sleek surfaces, while custom shelving and joinery integrate display, lighting, and storage into a cohesive architectural framework.

Lighting is conceived as a compositional element that shapes the mood rather than simply illuminating it. A combination of wall sconces, table lamps, and articulated ceiling lights creates an intimate rhythm of highlights and shadows, enhancing the depth of the wood surfaces.
By night, the café takes on a cinematic quality; light reflecting softly off the chrome & mirror details, brown terrazzo, and glass to produce a quiet glow that defines the café’s signature atmosphere.
Externally, the design maintains visual continuity through the use of the same wood cladding that frames the facade and window openings. The illuminated signage subtly projects the brand’s minimal identity while the framed glazing provides visual transparency to the warm interior beyond. The outdoor seating area extends the spatial experience outward, retaining the same restraint and balance found inside.

HID Café embodies Studio Nama’s continued exploration of material-driven hospitality design; where proportion, light, and tactility come together to form calm, contemporary spaces. The result is an interior that feels grounded yet sophisticated; a composed backdrop to the daily rhythm of coffee and conversation.
