Beach House 75, located in Dubaiya, Kuwait, underwent a comprehensive renovation in 2022 led by Studio Nama. The project focused on the seamless integration of space within a structurally defined framework, featuring mandatory steel construction. The objective was to create an environment that transcends temporal boundaries, offering the owners a timeless retreat and embodying the quintessential essence of a beach house.

Situated with picturesque views of the Arabian Gulf, the location plays a pivotal role in the project. Expansive glass sliding doors draw in the scenic beauty and sunlight, connecting the interiors to the surrounding landscape. The masonry-set entrance hugs the building’s side, leading to a sunken garden via a stairway. The intimate yet expansive setting complements the serene atmosphere of a beachside dwelling.

Among the many highlights of Beach House 75, the exterior stands out as the project’s crowning emblem. Adhering to the requirement of aluminum cladding, Studio Nama incorporated perforations reminiscent of the silhouettes of surrounding lemon trees. This design choice, blending the shapes of shading leaves with the porcelain white interior, signifies a commitment to harmony between nature and human living.

The driving design concept for Beach House 75 was to establish a sense of never-ending flow, emphasizing intimacy within the architectural space. Studio Nama extended the exterior’s light porcelain hue to the interior, maintaining minimal materiality for a simple and serene ambiance. The clay-colored brick flooring, harmoniously extended to the front patio, further enhances the theme of flow, creating a cohesive and inviting space.

The color palette and materials used in Beach House 75 contribute to its distinctive atmosphere. Natural hues of whites, oaks, and gentle grays anchor key areas like the kitchen, living room, and bathroom. The rich color of the brick flooring was used to weave a rug like pattern on the floor. The intentional contrast between intimacy and expansiveness, coupled with sophisticated details such as pocketing wooden doors and a shower skylight, adds a touch of refinement to the overall design. Beach House 75 promises a lifestyle of serenity, where the revitalized natural elements create an exceptional living experience.
